Ahoy, Clearwater visitors! Prepare for a swashbuckling literary adventure on April 5, 2025, as the family-friendly pirate-themed Book Bash docks at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa. This free event caters to VPK–5th graders and their families from 3:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m., inviting everyone to join in on a vibrant celebration of reading.

Hosted by New Worlds Reading, the Book Bash is not just an event; it's a treasure trove of engaging activities designed to kindle the flames of imagination and learning. From interactive reading activities to captivating story read-alouds, families can enjoy a suite of experiences that make reading a joyous adventure. Children can delve into the world of books with take-home titles aimed at boosting their home libraries, as well as enjoy fun activities such as face painting and a balloon art extravaganza. And as if that weren’t enough, kids will have a chance to meet the beloved Clifford the Big Red Dog!

Reading provides a vital foundation for children’s development, and events like the Book Bash play an essential role in enhancing literacy skills. New Worlds Reading is committed to making a difference by supplying over 71,000 eligible students in Hillsborough County with free books and resources. With the goal of inspiring a love for reading, their initiative equips children with nine free books each year, alongside personalized packages that engage families in literacy-building activities. These books come in multiple languages, including English, Spanish, Haitian Creole, and braille, ensuring inclusivity for all children.
